This is a question I get asked a lot. In causal conversation, emails, postings, etc. I usually have the same answers that I have been saying for the past 3 years. It was not until a child asked the question that it really hit home. The next one was really a blow, “Do they hate him just because he is Black?”
Now of course I know that not everyone that disagrees with President Obama is a racist, but a lot of people that do are. When you hear the talk and you see the opposition speak you can just see it all over their face. It is not even subtle. It can not be ignored. I recently saw one interview where a member of Congress just barely contained himself. You can just hear what he would say behind closed doors.
President Obama has just become the embodiment of everything a large group of the country dislikes. He is the son of a foreigner, bi-racial, ivy league educated, and Progressive ideology. He is from a group of people that believe that there are many things about the United States that need to be changed. To this group that represents a change to their entire way of life that they are not willing to make.
One thing that always amazes me about this is the fact that people think just because they lie about their feelings and beliefs that people will believe what they are saying. It has been proven that even animals such as dogs and cats know when you are lying, so I would hope that people did too.
I really hope it does not come as a surprise to anyone that a large part of the population hates President Obama considering that segregation was not that long ago and many of those people and their children are still alive today. Maybe one day all of this will be a thing of the past, but unfortunately that is not today but we are moving in the right direction.
