So if you ever wondered why most people of Islam do not believe that most Americans do not truly respect their faith and beliefs, now you know why, because they don't. A recent poll show that 70% of Americans oppose the building of a mosque in New York City near ground zero. I am willing to bet that many of these same people have absolutely no problem with the Confederate Flag flying over the state capitals of South Carolina and Mississippi.
It is said that it is disrespectful to the victims of 9/11. Apparently all Muslims are terrorists, just like all Christians are slave owners, KKK, Crusaders, Indian killers, etc. etc.
The thing that really makes this absolutely hilarious is that this is a country that is built on the dead bodies of a continent of people that were absolutely decimated and very nearly destroyed. Another group was brought here as animals to serve their masters needs.
Now we are always told that was in the past and we should just forget about those events. We are all Americans now. Well as long as you are an American like them. If you are not then what you want does not matter. It does not really apply to you. The not so subtle message is that you are not like us and thus we don't like you.
One would think that a country whose first settlers came here to avoid religious persecution, would have it ingrained in their core to respect the religious beliefs of others, but that is no where close to the case. Keep in mind this is the group that will say this December that is perfectly fine to have a Christmas tree and Nativity scene all over the country including government property, but now they have a problem with private citizens spending their money on private property and doing what they will.
Now I don't buy the whole near ground zero angle for a bit. There have been too many protest and complaints filed across the country protesting the building of a mosque. Get the not so subtle message? Seems like there is no need to want your country back, it is right here in all of hate filled bigotry glory.
