Do you believe in the Constitution or do you not? Do you believe in the rule of law or do you not? Do you believe in our system of government or do you not? Do you believe in the will of the people or do you not?
Ever since 1992 the answer has been NO. Regardless of the person and the background the answer has been NO. I say 1992 because this is the dawn of the new United States of America. When the American beliefs and dreams where looking like they finally came together, when we were finally getting over our past of bloodshed and hate. When we accepted that the "good ole days" weren't so great. We were finally a country where everyone belong, where we all fit together. But that didn't last long.
No we began the process of tearing each other down. There was a group that was not so happy. They did not want to give up their old ways. They still loved the time of All American and everything was Happy Days. Everyone thought the same and liked everything the same. They decided to make an effort to bring that fantasy world that never existed back. They did and thus begins the return of “You either with us or against us.”
So the country has been fighting back and forth over who is a true American. The other side is always demons and our side is always the Angels. Hate is a word thrown around a lot along with disrespect. Throwing a shoe at the President of the United States is a joke. Telling the President of the United States during a State of the Union address that he is lying is perfectly ok and fine. What's next being justified in killing him?
So I ask the question, do we really believe "that all men(and women) are created equal" ? From where I sit the answer is NO, because it seems like everyone thinks and acts like they are better, smarter and entitled more than whoever is in power at the time. Respect and honor are things of the past, but then again maybe they aren't. It is not like they ever had it in past either, we just like to think they did. I guess that is progress, at least no one pretends it does anymore.
