This is going to be one of those posts that is going to get me in trouble, not because I am saying anything that is wrong or incorrect, I am just going to talk about a hard truth that some just do not want to acknowledge because it does not match up with their world view. If you look around there is a lot of that going on across the world today.
There is a debate going on today about women, that is probably as old as human beings themselves. See none of this is anything new but for the people involved in said debate they behave as if this is some new revelation but it is not. It is really a constant debate that never will end.
One of the hardest facts of life for a lot of people is to accept that while we are all human we are not all viewed the same. Some of us are considered funny and a joy to be around, some of us are viewed as being strong and protectors of our family and friends, and some of us are viewed as being absolutely beautiful and can command anything we like with a bat of the eye. Yes I am going to discuss the later in this post.
Quite often (translation daily) I see something written by a woman that complains about some act another woman has done. It generally goes something like how these women are doing a disservice to all women by setting a bad example for women because they do X which is stereotypical, demeaning, and subjugating behavior for women when they should be doing Y instead which proper behavior for a woman. These comments never take into account the wishes and beliefs of said women.
See that is the sticking point with this debate, who gets decide if a woman should be depicted as a sexual object, the woman or other people. I see complaints about women in music videos, women in men's magazines, women in the fashion industry, women as booth babes, women in movies, women as characters in video games, women as strippers, women in pornography, women as prostitutes, etc; but what is always missing is that these women freely chose to engage in those activities and behaviors so nothing was forced on them.
The simple truth is that some women realized a longtime ago that they were sexual creatures who could use their sexual charms to achieve certain goals because men and women really love sexual, sensual women. They then use this gift to their advantage to get the most out of their lives. This is just a fact of the world.
Not a day goes by and I mean this literally, that I do not see a devout Christian woman declare (now with pictures thanks to social media like Instragram and Facebook) how much sex appeal she has and just like clockwork someone will co-sign on her statement. Doesn't matter if she is a priest or a pole dancer they are going to tell her how sexy she is and how they would like her sexual favors sometimes subtly and sometimes in a bold way. Either response will garner a smile and a like click.
Of course this is not a gift or ability every woman has and you guessed it, that is the other truth I detect in all these debates, jealousy, because far too often the very women complaining about these sexual tropes as they call them, are not what society would consider the most desirable.
And before you even start with the comments none of this has anything to do with equal rights for women and all the various aspects of that in the world. A woman is free to decide how she wants to act and she does not need the permission of another human. We don't have to like it but we do have to respect it.
So we as humans have to accept that some women are very comfortable in their sexuality and most men are all to happy to enjoy that comfort in everyday life as well as their entertainment. Contrary to some opinions out there this is not wrong but how nature works for humans are animals too after all.
