Samsung completely gets design. While they are not an innovator, they are able to look at what others build and see what consumers want and then make a product that they want to buy. You can tell that they spent a lot of time looking at what the iPad had done and then where Motorola failed with the Xoom. You may remember that Samsung delayed the release of the 10 inch Tab after the iPad 2 came out to tweek the design.
They succeeded by producing the best Android tablet to date. It has all of the features a person would want like HDMI out and USB. The design is sleek and light, probably just a hair thinner than the iPad 2. In comes with stock Android Gingerbread 3.1 (even though they are going to update it with Touchwiz and other features) that will give you a pure experience.
It will work with all of your Google products so there will not be much you will need to do to get up and going. It really is easily the best Android tablet to date right now. If the original Galaxy Tab was a good as this one then maybe Samsung would have sold even more than they have before probably catching up to the iPad. I don't know why but it seems consumers just prefer the larger screen as a whole but that just seems as though it is taking it into notebook territory.
About the only thing that will probably hold it back is price which is the same as the iPad and Xoom and more than the upcoming Toshiba Thrive that is due out soon and definitely more than the EeePad Transformer which is just $399. Consumers have yet to show they are willing to pay as much for Android tablets as they are for the iPad, like they did for Android phones when compared to the iPhone. Only time will tell.
As it stands right not unless you have disposable income, I would advise against purchasing any tablets. I still don't see a hole that they fill that is not already done by your smartphone, eReader, and notebook that most people in the market for a tablet already have.
If you just have to have a tablet and don't want to buy the iPad the Galaxy Tab 10.1 is easily your best choice.
