Mother’s Day is just around the corner and many of us are going to purchase gifts such as candy, flowers, and cards for mother. Some of us will even go the extra mile by taking dear old mother out for a lovely dinner at a fancy restaurant. We do all of this as a way to show our heartfelt gratitude to our mother.
Many would say this is the very least a child should do for all of mother’s hard work and sacrifice in raising her children, but I ask you what real mother needs to be celebrated for doing what is within her. A mother doesn’t stop being a mother until she is dead and buried. Even then her memory lives in the minds of the children she raised forever as does her mother before her.
A mother who is truly in love with her children never stops being a mother. She is even mother to strangers. She does this because to love, care, and nurture children is part of her nature.
Most mothers want the best of everything for their children. The best food, clothes, schools, but most importantly we want them to be the best they can possibly be. That does not mean that every child need to be rolling in a bounty of cash. It means that a mother wants her children to be complete within the happiness of life.
As a mother she does not give a false sense of hope that everything in life is going to be 100 percent grand all the time. Through examples of her character, teaching, and living she shows her children how life is going to be during their own hardships in life. These examples will allow her children to be peaceful when chaos is all around. Mothers watch their children grow. We are the first to witness our children’s growing pains and we are the first to comfort them.
I have always said that our children are always watching us and if you want them to be on their best behavior all the time then you have to be on yours. We are their very first teachers in life and love.
How much love you put into raising your children will be reflected back at you through their interaction with the world. Everyday is a day mothers are honored to be a mother. We see our love, hope, prayers, and sacrifice in our children each and everyday.
