Most times the food we love looks more complex than it really is. If you love sesame broccoli like I do then this recipe will save you money and gas. You can also replace the broccoli with chicken, pork, or shrimp since this recipe is all about the sauce. Lets begin!
2 lbs of Broccoli
3 Tablespoon Soy Sauce
3 Tablespoon Rice Vinegar
3 Tablespoon Sesame Oil ( I often use grape seed oil and the taste is just as delicious.)
1 Tablespoon Sugar
1/2 Teaspoon Ginger
1/4 Teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes
1/8 Teaspoon Black Pepper
1/4 Teaspoon Sesame Seeds. ( will need more for topping)
Mix ingredients in a saucepan over medium low heat until sugar is dissolved. Make sure to keep stirring so it does not burn. Once sugar is fully dissolved add broccoli and mix with the sauce. Turn heat to medium and cover pan. let steam for 5 to 10 minutes depending on how you like the texture of your broccoli. Turn Heat off. Add to a plate. Pour remaining sauce on top and sprinkle extra Sesame seeds on top. Enjoy!
