A week ago Saturday my mother, grandmother, and I were sitting outside enjoying the weather and each others company. The cold front had gone and we just wanted to relax outside. I went in the house to get the trash to burn (yes we burn trash in the country) because it wasn’t that windy. My bigmomma stayed close to the house while mom and I pulled up a lawn chair and set by the fire. I went to get a rack to make sure the fire would not spread, while mom was watching. As I got back, the fire proceeded to go to a near by tree as well as to some dry brush near the trash pile. I told her I guess I should get the hose, and ran to the water hose.
As the blaze continued to move forward behind the barn which was near the dry brush, she and my grandmother yelled towards our neighbors for more assistance and water hoses; mind you all of this happened within less than five minutes. They ran up (papa, and Alex) to help stop the fire. I ran back to the water hose because it kept popping off of the connection. By then, the fire spread to the field near my moms house and began to find its way into the bar/storage structure. We had a long enough hose by now and I was there holding making sure it would not come loose (which it did often and I was completely drenched). I yelled, “call 911” and Alex was already making the call. Once the firemen arrived, one focused on the structure while the other four trucks focused on the field. In the midst of it all, all I could do was pray, not for what was being lost, but just pray. Pray and praising the Most High for how magnificent and wonderful He Is. Pray for His beauty and His love and Praise Him because He Is the Great I Am! I did not cry for sadness, was not focused on anything but Him!!! Once the fire was out, all I could do was smile and make jokes without nerves taking me over or even fear. I was content!
~When your troubles seem to be too huge to bare, call for help and He will appear.
~When your winter is over know that there will still be a storm that you must go through.
~Once in the storm, remain your focus on the tools in which the Most High provides you with even if they feel like it is not working to your benefit, it still works.
~In your fire continue to praise and worship not worrying about the outcome and what was lost. Keep your Eyes and Heart and Soul and Mind on Him. Through it all He will comfort you!He will also provide for you the things needed to get through whatever problems come your way!
~Your smiles instead of tears, your laughter instead of fears, your joy instead of pain, is the testimony in which He has given you to share with others………..
