I have seen quite a few articles written this past week about how religion makes people stupid. Just using that phrase alone sets the negative tone of the conversation. It is Easter week so nothing is really surprising about all of this. Attacking Jesus has become a sport for the 2 - 6% of the US population that are self proclaimed Atheists. What they might find surprising is the number of religious people that agree with a lot of the things that they say. That's right, both Atheists and ultra conservative Christians use the very same arguments when they attack the religious beliefs of others.

To some this may sound like a strange question, but to those that not only study their religion but the religion of others it is a perfectly reason question to ask. In the United States people just use the term, God, to refer to their religion I am sure never thinking for a second that others are referring to something else.

I personally believe in my heart as a devoted man of GOD, that Tim Tebow's recent promotion to become the new starting Quarterback for the Denver Broncos was a direct result of his faithfulness to remain positive and committed to GOD'S principles.

We currently live in a culture that teaches us that "failure is never an option". "Failure makes us weak." "Failure makes us unmanly." The truth is, embracing times when we fail is exactly what helps men become REAL MEN. I used to be a perfectionist. I used to feel extemely bad on myself when one little thing didn't go my way. Sometimes, this irresponsible emotion led to committing stupid behaviors. However, GOD gave me another chance and I am making the best of it and so can you.

Matt 26: 31-35

“Then Jesus told them, “This very night you will all fall away on account of me, for it is written:
“‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’ But after I have risen, I will go ahead of you into Galilee.”
Peter replied, “Even if all fall away on account of you, I never will.”
“Truly I tell you,” Jesus answered, “this very night, before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times.”
But Peter declared, “Even if I have to die with you, I will never disown you.” And all the other disciples said the same.

'For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD,  "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.' Jeremiah 29:11

When I was growing up, I would read huge books, write novels, and make up characters, and act them out. In the fourth grade, I was tested and determined to have a 12th grade reading level. I was placed in gifted classes, and went to Montessori school at one point. I would create board games from scratch, put together detailed ‘school plans’ and stay up for hours into the night, making fake school lessons. (replicating each page dozens of times, because I had no copier) Its pleased me to see people take something I had put together and learn something. I spent lots of time alone and to me it make no sense.  I loved to tell long stories, and hear long stories. People would get aggravated with my endless questions "and then what happened? And how did you LOOK while you said that to her? What was her response?" I loved to paint mental pictures. I spent alot of time alone in isolation, but it gave me time to develop my imagination.

There was a farmer tending his field when he noticed a different fruit had grown. He picked it up, looked at it, and then bit in to it. The bitter taste of it shocked him so much that he dropped it on the ground causing more seeds from this fruit to spread out. The farmer noticed that he dropped it but went about tending the rest of his field. During the next harvest, to his surprise more of that same fruit had grown. He also noticed that his other produced had lessoned and the ones that did grow did not look the same. This made the farmer very upset. He did not understand where this fruit came from, why it came back or why it multiplied. He became so angry that he picked up the fruit and squished with his hands leaving more seeds to drip on the fertile ground and he stepped on the rest. As he continued to tend the rest of field, when he found one of these fruits, he would throw it causing it to splatter when it hit the ground in another area of his field. In the following harvest, the farmer was shocked. All his produced was gone. Replaced by this fruit. All his hard work was destroyed. This fruit had multiplied so greatly that it sucked all the fertility out of the soil, leaving his field worthless.

This past Friday in our family bible study, we discussed controlling our mouths. This is important for those who profess to be 'Christians' on Sunday's, but Monday thru Saturday say whatever comes out of their mouths, no matter how hateful, disrespectful, or rebellious.

During this weekend, dont forget to take the time to thank all who made it possible for us to be a mom. including fathers. Regardless of what they have done since the child has been existence, the child would still not be here if the life inside them was not planted inside us. Ladies also remember not to make yourselves your own idol on this day. all glory goes to the Most High and the Most High alone. Exodus 20: 1-6
