Got love for the classic Kelly and Astaire typed films. You know the ones that leave you with the feeling of joy that made you want to sing and dance. Then you don’t want to miss “The Greatest Showman” coming out this week starring Hugh Jackman, Zac Efron, and Zendaya. The film is directed by Michael Gracey making this his first big film to hit the silver screens.
The cast for this film is well put together with great performances that are wonderfully choreographed with dynamic songs. You can see that everyone put their heart and souls into giving the script their very best. Jackman and Efron are no strangers to the physical demands in this type of performance while Zendaya came face to face with the very difficult task of becoming the beautiful trapezes artist.
The Greatest Showman has something for everyone. It is a film that the whole family can see this year for the holidays that will leaving you singing the night away with songs like “A Million Dreams” by Hugh Jackman, Michelle Williams, and Ziv Zaifaman or the hip sound of “The Other Side” by Zac Efron and Hugh Jackman. This movie in my opinion really does capture the heart and soul of everyone just as the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus.
For younger audiences there is a bull named Ferdinand. This is a cute and adorable story about a bull. I know how can a bull be cute and adorable but Ferdinand is just that. This is a lovely story about the misconceptions of people based on appearances alone. Ferdinand is an animated Blue Sky Studio Production where John Cena plays the beloved main character Ferdinand, who is a funny, caring, and loving pet bull.
This is a laugh out loud film that will not only teach a powerful message of not judging others based on their exterior but the content of their character. It is a film that is packed with fun and warmth that has voice performances by Kate McKinnon, Anthony Anderson, Bobby Cannavale, and Peyton Manning.
Ferdinand is a charming well thought out 3D animated film packed with adventure that the whole family will enjoy.
Another fun film that during the holidays is Jumanji. It has a PG-13 rating due to suggestive content and language. Dwayne Johnson plays the souped up strong guy, Dr. Bravestone. Not only is this movie hilariously funny with performances from Jack Black and Kevin Hart it is filled with all kinds of action that is all over the place.
If you want a movie that is full of action this is the one. However if you are thinking that Jumanji is a remake of the 1995 film you are mistaken. This movie is a continuation of the game which has move from an old outdated board game to an old outdated console where the message is the same with characters coming alive and finding out their true strengths inside the game.
No matter which feature you decide to see this year remember to do it as a family in the spirit of Christmas holiday this year.
