If there is one thing I will take from 2010 it is the feeling of the collapse of all that is right in the world. I am talking about much more than the economy and the loss of homes and jobs. I see so many people everyday that just want to give up on everything. Those that help people. Those that used to believe in something larger than themselves. It just seems a lot of people are just tired. They are numb.

It seems like a lot of people have left Christ out of Christmas. I do not mean that in the way that so many people are saying it today.

Let's talk about Christmas for a second. We are going to ignore the historical context and just talk about the holiday at face value. We are going to treat Christmas as if it is the time of peace on Earth and good will towards men.

Tell me if this is something you see being displayed everyday by the Christians that celebrate Christmas. What I see instead of love and good will, is anger and threats. Is this how Jesus would act? Is this how he told us to act?

Don't ask, don't tell policy has yet to make sense to me. If a person makes a decision to join the armed forces, why should their sexuality matter? They are tested for mental, physical and educational abilities when they enter the military. Why are they denied the right to remain in service if their sexual orientation is revealed? I'm quite sure that the enemies have not thrown down their weapons when they noticed a homosexual or lesbian on the front lines.

This is a question I get asked a lot. In causal conversation, emails, postings, etc. I usually have the same answers that I have been saying for the past 3 years. It was not until a child asked the question that it really hit home. The next one was really a blow, “Do they hate him just because he is Black?”
